Reeves-Reed Arboretum, a public arboretum and former historic estate with landscapes designed by Calvert Vaux, Ellen Biddle Shipman, and Carl Pilat, seeks a garden intern for the Spring 2015 season. The internship program at Reeves-Reed Arboretum is designed for individuals who are currently enrolled in a horticulture or related program or who might be returning to school and want to learn more about a career in public garden management.
The Internship provides hands-on experience to learn the practical aspects of growing and maintaining an historic garden and native plant areas. Applicant should have enthusiasm for horticulture and gardening, the ability to lift and carry 40 lbs. and perform manual work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions. Prior gardening experience is desirable but not necessary. Must have a valid driver's license and be 18 or older.
HOURS and COMPENSATION:
This position is offered March – June 2015 with full and part time schedules available. Start and end dates are flexible. Working hours are generally 9:00 – 3:00 with weekend work as needed. No financial compensation is offered for this position; Reeves-Reed Arboretum is pleased to work with the intern's educational institution to provide documentation of internship status for academic credit.

SOCIAL MEDIA/MARKETING INTERN (Spring/Summer 2015)
Seeking organized, dependable college student to assist with marketing & social media for Reeves-Reed Arboretum, a non-profit public garden & historic estate located in Summit, NJ.
Needs to be an independent worker with good communication and interpersonal skills.
Will be interacting with all Arboretum staff members as well as with visitors.
Personal laptop and cell phone needed.
Responsibilities will include assisting with the following:
Researching & curating social media content
Posting events to online media calendars
Answering phones, light clerical work
Photography skills helpful, video skills a plus
Proficient with Microsoft Word & Publisher, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest & Flickr
Tuesday, Thursday, and/or Friday afternoons
