Jazz on the Terrace at Reeves-Reed Arboretum

Summer Concert Series

Jazz on the Terrace at Reeves-Reed Arboretum

Summit – Jazz on the Terrace, a collaborative effort between Reeves-Reed Arboretum and the New Jersey Jazz Society, returns to the Arboretum this summer with the first performance Friday evening, July 13. Bring a picnic and enjoy music under the stars.  The gates will open at 6:00 PM and the performance will begin at 7:00 PM. Tickets are $15 per person for Arboretum and NJ Jazz Society members and $20 for the general public. The featured group for the evening is Giant Cicada.

Jon Burr, bassist-composer-arranger-producer and Lynn Stein, vocalist-fine artist, presents the Giant Cicada, described as mix of jazz, bluegrass, sunshine pop and baroque, cajun and cajon, funky and sweet. Sure to please most musical palettes, the Giant Cicada began as an extension of the partnership of the vocal/bass duo Jon & Lynn, who've been sharing their love for the essence of song and minimalist arrangements with their fans. The group's bassist Jon Burr is the leader of The Giant Cicada. Learn more at Jon&Lynn.net.

Jazz on the Terrace is made possible through the support of Investors Savings Bank and Cheryl Barr and Tom O'Flynn.  For more information or to purchase tickets visit the website at www.reeves-reedarboretum.org or call (908)273-8787 ext. 1414.

Reeves-Reed Arboretum is the only public garden and one of the largest green spaces in the City of Summit. It is the only arboretum in Union County. The Arboretum seeks to engage, educate and enrich its visitors so they may become better stewards of nature and the environment. This mission is achieved through the care and utilization of an historic estate, gardens, and hiking trails, and in the presentation of workshops and classes in horticulture, sustainability and environmental education. Reeves-Reed Arboretum is listed on both the National and New Jersey Historic Registries. For more information, please visit the website at www.reeves-reedarboretum.org.
