Summit - The holidays in Summit would not be complete without the annual Holiday House Tour to benefit Reeves-Reed Arboretum. This year’s eagerly anticipated event will be held on December 8, 2011.

The highlight of the tour is admission to five lovely homes in Summit decorated for the holidays. The homes will be open from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm. Also included is the Arboretum’s own Wisner House which will host a Designer Holiday Boutique, featuring tabletop arrangements created and donated by local designers and florists, all for sale the day of the tour. The Garden Gallery will be transformed into a gift gallery, a new addition to the tour this year. Participating retailers will include: Carter & Cavero Old World Olive Oil Co.,Cookies and Cartwheels, Dolce & Mia, Gradone & Keefe Jewelers, Made with Clay by Laura, Magpie Designs, H. Roland and Tweets & Co.  Doors to the Designer Boutique and Gift Gallery will open one hour before the start of the tour at 9:00 am.  A percentage of sales from the Gift Gallery will be donated to the Arboretum.

 The Holiday House Tour is made possible through the support of area businesses including Lois Schneider Realtor, presenting sponsor.  Lois Schneider has been a consistent and enthusiastic supporter of Reeves-Reed Arboretum since its founding in1974. Additional sponsors for this year’s tour include Beechwood Title Agency, Salon 44, Morning Glory Gardens and Hilltop Community Bank.

A buffet luncheon will be served on the day of the tour at the Beacon Hill Club. Space is limited and advance reservations are required. Lunch will be served from 11:30 until 1:00 and costs $35 per person.

All proceeds will benefit the historic preservation of Reeves-Reed Arboretum and support its horticultural and environmental education programs. Tickets are $30 for members and $35 for non-members in advance. All tickets will be $40 on the day of the tour.
