Dear Members and Friends of Reeves-Reed Arboretum,
All of you have been so supportive during my nearly three years as the Executive Director that it is very difficult to let you know that I will be stepping down effective the end of March 2012.
When I arrived in July 2009 it was at a critical time for the organization. It was in the midst of a strategic planning process and board restructuring. The board has grown from 12 members to 16 and it has been able to implement key strategic directions. Over the past three years, more than $230,000 in capital improvements have been completed, and an additional $125,000 will be completed in the first half of 2012. All of these projects have been funded through private donations and grants. These projects have included the wonderful Wesson Family Nature Grove and major restoration of the Wisner House. Soon the remodel of the Wisner House kitchen will be completed making it a true asset for our special events and those of the many organizations that use our facility.
The generosity of the community was never more evident than in the last few months. The financial support to help us clean up from the devastating late October storm was truly amazing and I thank you. Over the next few months I hope that you will visit the Arboretum and allow me to thank you in person for everything.
Warmest regards to all,
