Fall In Love With Trees - Saving Our Beech Trees: October 5 - ONSITE

(for teens and adults)

Speaker: John Beirne, Curatorial Director of Horticulture at Reeves-Reed Arboretum

Reeves-Reed Arboretum, together with the City of Summit’s Shade Tree Advisory Committee, presents three powerful programs, in our returning series called Fall In Love With Trees.

Beech trees are under attack from a new and deadly pathogen: Beech Leaf Disease. This presentation will cover what we need to know about this potentially catastrophic disease and what we need to do to combat it. This talk is relevant to all who love trees, especially in a community known for its beautiful Beech trees, and their close relatives, the Oaks.

Participants will receive 1.5 Continuing Education Credits (CEU).

All participants who attend the onsite program will receive a one-time free 6-month individual membership to Reeves-Reed Arboretum. . Must attend onsite, for adults only.

Programs are being offered onsite and virtually. Onsite space is limited, and reservations are encouraged.

Upcoming programs in the Fall in Love With Trees series:

Thursday, October 19 – Eco-Action TikTok Viewing Party

Thursday, November 2 - Trees in a Changing Climate: A Homeowner’s Guide
