(for teens and adults)
Speaker: Guy Sternberg, Founder/Owner of Starhill Forest Arboretum
Reeves-Reed Arboretum, together with the City of Summit’s Shade Tree Advisory Committee, presents three powerful programs, in our returning series called Fall In Love With Trees.
Virtually all scientists agree that our climate is becoming increasingly unstable. How will this affect our most treasured and permanent landscape plants – our trees? Why should we be concerned, and what should we do? In this talk, learn about the expected trends for our landscapes in the coming century and about the importance of species, provenance, and diversity.
Our special guest speaker Guy Sternberg is a certified arborist and a retired landscape architect. He served on the staff of the Illinois Department of Natural Resources for 32 years and is currently the owner and manager of Starhill Forest Arboretum in Petersburg, IL. He is the principal author of Landscaping with Native Trees and Native Trees for North American Landscapes.
A limited quantity of signed copies of Guy Sternberg’s books will be available for purchase.
Participants will receive 1.5 Continuing Education Credits (CEU).
All participants who attend the onsite program will receive a one-time free 6-month individual membership to Reeves-Reed Arboretum. Must attend onsite, for adults only.
Programs are being offered onsite and virtually. Onsite space is limited, and reservations are encouraged.
