Four Centuries in a Weekend 2023: Sunday, October 22

Four Centuries in a Weekend is a Union County tradition that enables residents and visitors to travel through time and learn about the rich history of our community.  Held annually on the third weekend in October, this county-wide event showcases more than thirty historic sites, featuring tours, exhibits, and special events.

Reeves-Reed Arboretum is participating on Sunday, October 22 ONLY from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm.  We will be offering the following activities that will help you learn about the history of this historic estate, The Clearing on the Hill, now known as Reeves-Reed Arboretum:

  • Visit our history exhibit to view artifacts and photographs of the Reeves, Reed, and Wisner families.
  • Grab a Map & Guide from our Visitors Center to aid your self-guided walk throughout the grounds, trails and gardens.
  • Stop by Beacon Signal Fire #10, a replica of the original Revolutionary War beacon that was recently installed on “the hill."

No registration is required, and entry is free.

Please note that the Arboretum will only be open to the public on Sunday, October 22, NOT Saturday, October 21.
