Winter Solstice Forest Bathing: Wednesday, December 21

(for adults)

From time immemorial, humans have observed the Winter Solstice, the day when the hemispheric pole is at its furthest point from the Sun, as a special day on the calendar. Cultures around the world mark this auspicious ‘turning towards the light’ with feast and celebration, and in quiet reflection. The Winter Solstice will occur this year at 4:48 pm EST on December 21 as the Sun, having reached its furthest point from us, begins its long journey back providing us with a little more of its precious light each day.

What better way to prepare for this important passage than by taking a pause to reflect as you deepen your nature connection with a Forest Bathing walk at the Arboretum.  Limited availability, so book your place soon to this very special event.

This program is appropriate for adults. Please dress for the weather, this class is entirely outdoors. Participants should expect to be traveling no more than a 1 mile on various trail types for the full duration of the class.  The walk will be postponed in the event of inclement weather.

Member registration begins on Tuesday, November 1; Non-member registration begins on Tuesday, November 15.
