SUMMIT, NJ - Get ready to dig into spring gardening with the yearly Spring Plant Sale hosted by Reeves-Reed Arboretum on Mother's Day weekend. Whether you're a seasoned gardener or just beginning your green journey, this event offers something for everyone, from rare and exotic specimens to tried-and-true favorites.

This Spring Plant Sale, a tradition in Summit, will take place against the backdrop of Reeves-Reed Arboretum's beautiful natural landscapes, providing the perfect setting for a day of discovery and inspiration. Attendees can expect to peruse a broad selection of plants, including Arboretum-grown and New Jersey-grown perennials including native, deer-resistant, and pollinator-friendly plants as well as tropicals, succulents, and Mother's Day gifts. Knowledgeable staff and volunteers will be on hand to provide expert advice, helping guests select the perfect plants to suit their gardening needs and preferences.

"We are thrilled to welcome the community to our yearly Spring Plant Sale, where visitors can immerse themselves in the beauty of nature and find a great variety of plants to enhance their gardens," shared Deputy Director of Horticulture, Julieanne Frascinella. "This event not only offers an opportunity to acquire unique and high-quality plants but also supports the important work of our Arboretum in conservation and education."

In addition to the diverse selection of plants available for purchase, free guided tours of the Arboretum's spring gardens will take place at 10:30 am and 1:30 pm on Saturday, May 11. Admission to the Spring Plant Sale is free, with proceeds supporting the Arboretum's gardens and grounds as it celebrates its 50th Anniversary as a non-profit public arboretum. So don't miss this chance to kick-start your spring gardening season and discover the green treasures awaiting you. The Plant Sale schedule is as follows: Friday, May 10, 2-7 pm (Arboretum Members), Saturday, May 11, 10 am - 3 pm (Open to the public), and Sunday, May 12, 10 am - 3 pm (Open to the public).

Pre-orders can be purchased now at reeves-reed.company.site while supplies last. Customers who place pre-orders can pick up them up during the weekend plant sale dates and hours, including Members Day on Friday.  New this year - purchase heirloom daffodils that were planted by Mrs. Reeves in our historic Daffodil Bowl!
