FLOWER POWER BLOOMS AT REEVES-REED ARBORETUM'S ANNUAL DAFFODIL DAY FESTIVAL!

SUMMIT, NJ  Reeves-Reed Arboretum invites the community to join in the festivities of its annual Daffodil Day Festival on Sunday, April 14, from 11 am to 3 pm, a vibrant celebration of spring’s arrival and the resplendent daffodil flower.

Daffodil Day is a decades-old tradition in Summit when visitors to the Arboretum have an opportunity to enjoy one of the largest daffodil collections in New Jersey – over 50,000 bulbs in bloom in the Arboretum's glacially carved Daffodil Bowl!  Established in 1974, this year is extra special as the Arboretum celebrates its 50th Anniversary as a public arboretum.

The day’s focus on “Flower Power” will inject a 1970s theme into the festival’s activities, so feel free to embrace the fun theme and come dressed in your vintage threads, tie-dye t-shirts, and bellbottom denims. The day is going to be outta sight!

What to Expect:

Dazzling Daffodils: Be prepared to be mesmerized by the breathtaking sight of thousands of daffodils adorning the Arboretum's landscape in a riot of colors – from the traditional golden hues to the rarest shades of yellow, white, and peach.

Entertainment: From educational performances for all ages to engaging and interactive activities for the children, the festival promises non-stop fun that will keep you smiling from ear to ear. The Green Goats from Rhinebeck will also be visiting!

Spring Market: Sample delectable treats from local vendors offering an array of culinary delights, as well as merchandise from local artisans including candles, jewelry, home accessories, art, goat soap products, 50th Anniversary Arboretum swag, a 50/50 raffle, and more.

Family-Friendly Fun: Bring the whole family along for a day of laughter and bonding. With dedicated children’s activities, including crafts, a story walk, yoga, a scavenger hunt, and games, there’s never a dull moment for the little ones.

Educational Experiences: Take the History Walk along the Arboretum’s wildflower trail and learn about its importance during the Revolutionary War. Permanent signage throughout the property also educates guests about the historic gardens and the families who originally called this special estate home. Staff will also be on hand to educate visitors about the glacial daffodil bowl and the variety of daffodils blooming.

Photo Opportunities: Capture priceless moments amidst the sea of daffodils, and create lasting memories with friends and loved ones against the backdrop of nature’s splendor. Bruce Lorenz, an award winning photographer, will be on hand for professional photos at a nominal fee that will be donated back to the Arboretum.

Tickets are required and are on sale now. This community event is made possible thanks to title sponsor The Oldendorp Group, and bronze sponsors Axia Women’s Health, Hilltop Tutoring Center, Plant Health Organics, Reliable Office Solutions and Space & Mark Architecture.
