Oktoberfest 2020

OKTOBERFEST 2020

Saturday, October 24, 1 to 5 pm
at
Reeves-Reed Arboretum
165 Hobart Avenue
Summit, NJ 07901

Summit, NJ According to Ben Franklin, "Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy." So, grab your favorite beer drinking friends and come to Reeves-Reed Arboretum on Saturday, October 24, when Put the 'PUB' in Public Garden turns the Arboretum into a beer garden with OKTOBERFEST 2020! (rain date, Sunday, October 25)

Sponsored by Peerless Beverage Company, supplying Warsteiner Beer, and Barth's Market, offering bratwurst and pretzels, and accompanied by the popular oom-pah band, Doppelgänger, this festival is sure to turn into a recurring seasonal hit.

Brewed in Amsberg Forest Nature Park in North-Rhine Westphalia, Germany, Warsteiner is considered one of Germany's leading premium pilsner brands. Known for their old-world German dishes, Barth's Market will be providing the sustenance for the Arboretum's 2nd annual Oktoberfest. And a little about Doppelgänger....well, picture a 5-piece band dressed in German attire, featuring an accordion, clarinet, tuba, guitar, drums and vocals, and your set for an afternoon fete of fun and frolic in the garden.

Oktoberfest attire highly encouraged! There will be special prizes for the best costume.

Oktoberfest 2020 is a fundraiser for the Arboretum. Admission to the afternoon's flavorful festivities is $100 per person with a special RRA member rate of $75 per person for a limited time. Admission includes bottomless beer, a bratwurst, and a pretzel. You must be 21 years or older to attend Oktoberfest 2020. Reservations are requested since attendance will be limited. Sign up online and don't miss out on the fun!

Celebrating over 40 years as a historic public garden and education resource, Reeves-Reed Arboretum engages, educates and enriches the public through horticulture and environmental education, and the care and utilization of the gardens and estate. Open 7 days, the Arboretum is listed on both the National and New Jersey State Historic Registers. Funding for RRA has been made possible in part by the NJ Historical Commission, a division of the Department of State, through a grant administered by the Union County Office of Cultural & Heritage Affairs, Dept. of Parks & Community Renewal.
