REEVES-REED ARBORETUM
PUTS THE ‘PUB’ IN PUBLIC GARDEN WITH FESTIVE LIBATIONS THIS FALL!
SUMMIT, NJ: Reeves-Reed Arboretum will be featuring its Put the 'PUB' in Public Garden fundraisers again this fall. These social 21+ events will feature food, fun, and libations all while helping raise funds for the 13.5-acre historic property and environmental education center. This hidden gem in the suburb of Summit features historic and contemporary botanical gardens and six acres of woodland forest with walking trails. Its grounds are free and open to the public 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
The Arboretum will kick off the fall season with its first-ever Mixology Class: Shake the Night Away in historic Wisner House on Friday, September 16, 2022, from 7-9 pm. The evening will begin with learning the history of three classic cocktails – Cosmopolitan, Daiquiri, and Old Fashioned. Then, participants will learn how to make all three classics and get creative with modified versions to inspire future cocktail making at home. Bar tools and light bites are included. This fundraiser is $85/person for RRA members and $95/person for non-members. Space is limited so register early.
In October, the Arboretum will transform into a beer garden and celebrate OKTOBERFEST on Saturday, October 22, 2022, from 1-5 pm. Sponsored by Peerless Beverage Company and Barth's Market, this annual seasonal fete will feature bottomless premium autumnal ales, Bavarian-style bratwurst and pretzels, and old-world German side dishes. The popular German band, Doppelgänger, featuring accordion, clarinet, tuba, guitar, drums, and vocals will set the mood for this fun afternoon in the garden. Oktoberfest attire (and dancing) is highly encouraged, with special prizes for the best costume! This fundraiser is $75/person for RRA members and $90/person for non-members.
