Summit, NJ New Jersey Family, often called the essential source for New Jersey parents, announced its first ever New Jersey Family Ultimate Bucket List. The list reveals magazine followers, users, and readers' "must see" attractions and experiences in and around New Jersey. The New Jersey editors tallied votes from across the state to come up with the top picks that make up this reader-generated list. The expectation is that families will use this list to inspire some amazing day trips and experiences. "We are pleased to have been selected for this honor by NJ Family readers," says Frank Juliano, Executive Director of the Arboretum. "This encouragement and recognition, from NJ Family as well as the support from all of our media partners, is an acknowledgment of the dedication and passion our staff and trustees bring in support of our mission to engage, educate and enrich."
Reeves-Reed Arboretum has long been a favorite site to visit. With an annual attendance of over 101,000 people (up from just 28,000 in 2009), the Arboretum provides the best in environmental education programs for children and adults, lectures, concerts, tours and art exhibitions. It has also become a preferred choice for special events like weddings, corporate meetings, and photo shoots.
With the increase in guests to the grounds, the Arboretum is undertaking a two-phased accessibility project to make the grounds fully safe and available to everyone who visits. The first phase of this project should be near completion by mid to late autumn. The Arboretum has also launched a partnership with Bridges Outreach – a job readiness pilot program for the homeless where vetted candidates received basic gardening and facilities management skills, with the ultimate goal of job interviews and placement through the Arboretum's participating vendors.
