Summit, NJ INKUBATE®, a collaboration between the New Jersey Dance Theatre Ensemble and Reeves-Reed Arboretum, returns for a fourth season of three "enchanting and exhilarating" evenings of site-specific dance performances on the Arboretum grounds.. This renowned summer dance festival, featuring dance artists and choreographers from the New Jersey Dance Theatre Ensemble, will present three dance concerts on Wednesday evenings June 27, July 11, and August 1. The final concert of the series, scheduled for Wednesday, August 8, will feature Steven Cantor, aka HeaveN Beatbox, in a remarkable performance of beat or b-boxing, an amazing form of vocal percussion using one's mouth, lips, tongue, to vocally replicate, create and mimic sounds and tell stories.
The New Jersey Dance Theatre Ensemble (njdte.org), under the leadership of Artistic Director Nancy Turano, provides choreographic residencies for innovative, contemporary dance artists culminating in outdoor performances that interact with the natural surroundings of the Arboretum. "We are thrilled to present the fourth consecutive summer of INKUBATE® at RRA, insuring Summit, NJ as a destination for dance and culture in the region," comments Turano. INKUBATE® will include works by Loni Landon, Princess Grace Award Winner and Turano, 2017 NJSCA Choreographic Fellow.
HeaveN Beatbox has been delighting audiences with his astounding beatboxing abilities and his magnetic and exuberant personality. Street performing became a way for HeaveN to instantly attract an audience. From children to adults, he astounds all onlookers with his artistry and skill, giving sound and character to the world we live in.
