Sounds of a Summer Night Concert Series

Reeves-Reed Arboretum's ART in the Garden continues with

SOUNDS OF A SUMMER NIGHT CONCERT SERIES

June 26 through September 11

Summit, NJ:  ART in the Garden, the trademarked initiative of Reeves-Reed Arboretum, will broaden its scope to include a comprehensive visual and performing arts program this year.

The annual gala, being held on Saturday evening, June 1, will launch Sounds of a Summer Night, a summer long series of concerts-in-the-garden that will compliment the installation and wall-hung art exhibit of sculptor Tom Holmes.

The concert series will begin and end with performances by alumni artists from NJPAC's Wells Fargo Jazz for Teens program (under the direction of legendary jazz artist Don Braden); a concert specifically crafted for botanic gardens by Rose & the Nightingale called "The Spirit of the Garden;" a kicking and stomping music fest featuring Adam Gussow and his one-man blues band;  musical theatre highlights featuring cabaret artists from NJPAC's Summer Youth Performance Workshop; and the sweet, cool sounds of jazz from Stefan Teti and his combo.

Sounds of a Summer Night will begin on Wednesday evening, June 26, corresponding with the Discover Summit Arts Program, and will end on Wednesday evening, September 11, with a special jazz concert commemorating 9/11.  Full details including time, programs and artists will be announced.  Thanks to underwriting by Investors Savings Bank, this series is free to all RRA members.

Sounds of a Summer Night is made possible, in part, by support from Nick and Tracy McKee, and by the Grand Summit Hotel.  For more information about this series and other programs and events at Reeves-Reed Arboretum, please visit our website, www.reeves-reedarboretum.org, or call 908-273-8787.
