From time immemorial humans have observed the Winter Solstice as a special day on the calendar; the day when the hemispheric pole is at its further point from the Sun. Cultures around the world mark this auspicious ‘turning towards the light’ with feast and celebration, and in quiet reflection. The Winter Solstice will occur on December 20th as the Sun, having reached its further point from us, begins its long journey back providing us with a little more of its precious light each day.
What better way to prepare for this important passage than by taking a pause to reflect as you deepen your nature connection with a Forest Bathing walk at the Arboretum. Limited availability, so book your place soon at this very special event.
This program is appropriate for adults. Please dress for the weather, this class is entirely outdoors. Participants should expect to be traveling no more than a 1 mile on various trail types for the full duration of the class. The walk will be postponed in the event of inclement weather.
